I’m attempting to make updating ATA drives a bit safer and wish to lock the firmware to a selected vendor. I’ve obtained an enormous (presumably incomplete) table-of-data with some globs that detect the seller for every mannequin string. There’s nothing within the ATA spec for the distributors to use and so it is all fairly inconsistent, therefore the fuzzy matching.

Can you add a reply to this submit with the output of cat /sys/class/block/sd*/gadget/mannequin please. It’s utterly protected to run and no gadget entry is completed. Thanks prematurely!

There is extra data right here for the curious: https://blogs.gnome.org/hughsie/2019/12/11/improving-the-security-model-of-the-lvfs/ — feedback and questions welcome.
