Europe Just Voted in Favor of Making iPhone and Android Use the Same Charger : Android
The European Parliament has voted 582-40 in favor of a decision urging lawmakers to set a typical for charging cables.
Oh man…. I do know there could be a bit of a circle jerk on loving this determination.
I do know that USB-C is an efficient connector, for now. But will it keep that method?
6 years in the past, micro-USB was the primary normal for non-apple telephones and Lightning port existed. If the EU made this determination again then, would we even have USB-C now?
What a couple of decade in the past when 30-pin was standard on the iPhone and micro-USB on Android. Would we now have even seen the ports we now have now?
My worry is that it will stiffle future growth, and though requirements organizations are often backed by a consortium of corporations, not all the pieces they develop will essentially be one-size-fits-all.
Would the EU primarily give USB-IF the sole means to craft new requirements and stop particular person corporations from creating one thing to satisfy their wants or implement a function USB-IF does not want to implement in the normal, particularly for smaller corporations who cannot have a voice?
