Left my iPhone XS max at a friend’s in a single day. The next morning, the lock screen was disabled. Why? And how to show? : iphone

My iPhone XS max at all times has face ID on, so even when I sleep the cellphone for a few seconds, so as to unlock, I need to both use face ID or password. Last night time, I forgot my mobile phone at a pals home. This morning, upon retrieving it, it not requires the face or password unlock. I didn’t disable the password lock and in the cellphone settings “Face ID and Passcode”, all the settings seem to nonetheless be on…. so Im undecided what occurred?

If my cellphone was hacked, is there a means to show it? Is there a means to see a date/time stamped log of the cellphone’s utilization? If I can see that it was used throughout the time I was away, then at least I do know somebody tried one thing?
