Noob question about dsd audio files in li ux : linux

Hi,

my intention is to construct up a linux pc as an audio participant for my audio files which are saved on a QNAP NAS. I purchased myself a used Lenovo Thinkpad and managed to put in Linux Mint onto it. I’ll use JRiver’s Media Center to play my music files. This works advantageous to date for my HighRes Flac files. The one factor that does not work “out of the box”, is taking part in DSD files and I ponder if there’s want of some codec files to assist DSD files. Maybe a few of you possibly can assist me out right here. Or is there a Linux system on the market that’s “better” for streaming and taking part in audio files from a NAS right into a DAC by way of USB? The JRiver Media Center is not examined for a lot of distributions although and I wish to persist with it. Thanks for any tipps, as I’m fairly new to Linux and would not know the place to look and look!
