Get it right here

I received sick of not having a easy resolution to take screenshots and screencasts. Plus there’s so many alternative issues I would possibly need to do I battle to discover key bindings for all of them.

This script will enable you to choose one of many following through Rofi:

  • Copy a area to the clipboard

  • Save a area to a listing

  • Copy the entire display screen to the clipboard

  • Save the entire display screen to a listing

  • Record a particular area and save as a gif

  • Record a particular area and save as a MP4

  • Record the entire display screen and save as a gif

  • Record the entire display screen and save as an MP4

Usage

  • Download rofi-screenshot and add someplace in $PATH (e.g. /usr/native/bin)

  • Make it executable chmod u+x /usr/native/bin/rofi-screenshot

  • Show the menu with rofi-screenshot

  • Stop recording with rofi-screenshot -s

  • (non-compulsory) Add a keybinding for each of the above instructions
