Why diversify when most of the market seems to follow bitcoin? : CryptoCurrency
So I am comparatively new to crypto. I purchased some bitcoin and messed round with buying and selling a extremely small sum to see if I might choose up day buying and selling methods (to date i’ve damaged even) and really feel prefer it’s probably not price it and not using a lot of expertise and or luck. In response to this I adopted the recommendation I learn from a number of sources which is to diversify my portfolio. It’s comparatively conservative with about 40 % BTC, 35 % ETH, and the relaxation damaged up into alts that I researched and consider have some form of worth or potential utility like BAT, BNB, Tezos, ADA, and EOS. Having watched my portfolio for a bit I seen all the things seems to just about follow bitcoin proper down to the chart form. If that is the case, why put cash into alts when Bitcoin is seemingly primed to be the most steady or worthwhile with the present setting of it gaining extra reputation and nearing its halving?
TLDR, is diversifying in crypto not equal to diversifying in shares as a result of of a too robust correlation between BTC and alts?
