The DIY Science Zone began with video games – particularly, GeekGirlCon‘s Gaming Zone. That zone had a design-your-own sport room and I thought, “What if we had a Science Zone?” That was again in 2012. The DIY Science Zone premiered on the 2013 GeekGirlCon and now we’re coming into our 4th 12 months!

The DIY Science Zone is a labor of love – like the remainder of GeekGirlCon, which is run by volunteers. The success of the zone is determined by the awesomest con attendees within the universe*, scientists and educators that volunteer to work within the zone, all kinds of GeekGirlCon staffers (like me!), and donors.
The DIY Science Zone wouldn’t be attainable with out donations. Donations fund 100% of the zone’s finances from coating used to guard the convention middle’s flooring, to wall indicators directed attendees to science. Our yearly aim is $6,000 and this 12 months we’ve raised $1,750 to date!

Thanks to donors, we will convey 12+ experiments and one of the best science educators to the zone! This 12 months, we’re in an area 4x as massive so we will go BIG for science! Want to assist us make our 4th 12 months tremendous?! PRESS THE BUTTON! FOR SCIENCE!
A donation isn’t the one manner to assist. Spread the phrase in regards to the DIY Science Zone by sharing this submit in your social media platforms utilizing #DIYscizone. Thank you!
